Tucked away on a quiet street of Malmö, Kjell Blomqvist’s small shop is more than an art space — it’s a living archive. With over 33 years as a collector, Kjell has gathered a treasure trove of unique historical artworks, most from across Scandinavia, and a few gems from much further afield.
He began painting as a child — “I don’t remember not painting,” he says with a stern face — but it was the stories behind other people’s work that really pulled him in. “There’s something humbling about finding a piece that’s been forgotten. It’s like shaking hands with someone from 150 years ago.”
Kjell doesn’t consider himself an expert. “Eye for art? There is no such thing,” he says. “you like what you like”
If you’re lucky enough to visit, he might show you the back of a canvas with a 19th-century note scribbled in pencil — or the smallest painting in the shop, a 5x5cm oil that once belonged to a sailor.
What materials are your prints made from?
Our prints are produced on high-quality, matte paper using archival inks, ensuring longevity and vibrant colors. We also offer options on museum-grade fine art paper, canvas and wood surfaces.
How long will the prints last?
When properly cared for and displayed away from direct sunlight, our prints can last over 100 years without significant fading.
Do you offer framing?
All of our products are shipped with frames tailored to each print, including necessary gear for hanging.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer international shipping. Shipping costs and delivery times vary depending on the destination.
Will the artwork get damaged during shipping?
Each piece is carefully packaged using protective materials to ensure it arrives in pristine condition. We recommend inspecting the package upon arrival for any damage. If your print arrives damaged, please contact us immediately with photos of the damage. We will arrange for a replacement or refund as per our policy.
Can I request a custom size?
Absolutely! We accommodate custom sizes and finishes to suit your preferences. Please contact us with your specific requirements.
